Shadow Work
Self-reflective healing is the lifelong practice of discovering where we are internally conflicted or where within ourselves, we hold opposing or limiting beliefs. A big part of self-reflection includes asking ourselves questions in order to see any situation for how it truly is and not how we perceive it to be as filtered through our desires, judgments, or past traumas. In essence, self-reflection helps people see their problems in a more objective way so that they are able to clear away false beliefs about themselves and their partner. When our perspective shifts, we create space for good things to come into our lives and for our human selves to be fully realized.
In a shadow work session, we hold space for negative thoughts and emotions to be healed by practicing non-judgment,
self-acceptance, self-forgiveness, and compassion--in essence, self-love. It is
only when you begin to acknowledge these 'undesirable' parts of yourself that you can
truly live more consciously in the world and heal yourself, as well as those
around you.
Reiki practitioner and intuitive, Mara Jan Mills has been doing self-reflective healing for over two decades, working first, through her own karmic debt before being called to help others. As an energy worker, she uses touch therapy to help clients release blocks or ''energy knots'' in their system in order to help restore the body to its natural state of balance. She also offers energy readings with tarot cards and sessions in shadow work to help clients become aware of specific blockages, negative coping methods, and patterns of behavior keeping them stuck.
